Broadstone Oak City

Branching into the City of Oaks.

A hotel site in its past life, Broadstone Oak City exudes elevated hotel style in a relaxed suburban setting. Interiors are a playful reimagination of the former digs and feature the type of spaces that don’t typically exist in modern apartment communities. With a dedicated podcasting studio just for residents, your story can start here, too.

Our custom illustrations, patterns, icons, signage and colorful logo bring the exciting Broadstone to life.

What separates hospitality from residential design? Why are hotels and resorts imbued with fun, while so many housing developments feel utilitarian? In Broadstone’s eyes, it’s intentionality. Rather than opting for a more traditionally residential look, they chose to embrace the philosophy of leisure and play that attracted visitors to the original hotel.

The patterns and colors are chosen with an eccentricity more akin to a consumer brand than a typical residential unit, taking inspiration from art deco illustration styles, decorative home patterns and of course the oak trees that represent Raleigh.

Drawing more on its hospitality, Broadstone knows that small features can make all the difference. A custom icon set helps unify the resident experience from digital to wayfinding. These aren’t just about bathrooms and exit signs — a podcast studio, electric vehicle charging station and cocktail lounge are just a few of the amenities that Broadstone can showcase at the glance of an icon.

The site that was once considered a Raleigh eyesore is now bringing a unique and stylish modern mid-century flair to Raleigh’s East Midtown area.
