After the first ever North Carolina Science Festival (NCSF) in September 2010, the NCSF team decided to build on its success. Festival team members have been hard at work planning for an even bigger and better NCSF in April 2012.
Part of this plan is to redesign and update the NCSF web site to help build excitement and promote events. Rivers Agency was chosen from many qualified agencies to design and develop this web site and we couldn’t be more excited!
Because web site renovation is going to have a big hand in making the 2012 Festival an even bigger success, we’ve planned several special features to make the site fun, interactive and informative, as well as ways to take publicity strategies to the next level.
We’ve planned three phases of design for the web site. Phase One will focus on pre-festival activities, and will allow organizations to apply to host events, to increase Festival participation and to establish the site as a year-round destination with fresh, updated content. Closer to the Festival, the web site will switch to a Phase Two version, serving to promote the Festival Calendar and highlight specific Signature Events. Phase Three will focus on the post-festival wrap-up and highlight Signature Events with video, photos and written content.
We want to encourage people to use this site on the go, so we are developing a mobile version of the NCSF web site. The mobile site allows users to crate personalized schedules that they can view and manipulate from their mobile device and sync with Google Calendar, iCal or other scheduling applications.
We are so excited to be working on this project. A huge thank you to UNC’s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and the NC Science Festival team for giving us this great opportunity! Be on the lookout for the awesome new North Carolina Science Festival 2012 web site in early August.
