Through our work with Carolina Meadows, a retirement community in Chapel Hill, we had the pleasure of meeting resident Robert Phay. Robert just ran his 42nd marathon, with a significant foot injury and at the age of 83! In our conversations, Robert spoke to his drive to run and how it kept his body fit, his mind sharp and his life happier. Robert says that he has run his last marathon, but we don’t expect him to hang up his running shoes altogether.
