The Rivers Agency is moving to a stunning new office space in downtown Chapel Hill this month. Our new office will be located on the ground floor of Greenbridge Condominiums, a unique, mixed-use development at 601 W. Rosemary, on the edge of the historic UNC Chapel Hill campus and the iconic and eclectic Franklin Street and Carrboro retail areas. It’s a dynamic area with both deep roots and ambitious plans, and we’re right in the heart of the action.
Our new 4,700-square-foot office, which we expect to move into by Aug. 1, was designed by award-winning Chapel Hill architect Phillip Szostak of Szostak Design. Known for his minimalist, elegant designs, Szostak has worked on several notable projects, including the stylish and highly successful Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC). In creating our office, Szostak worked with Rivers to design a space that is both functional and beautiful. The modern style features an inspiring, open layout that encourages collaboration among team members.
Opened in mid-2010 and now owned by a private, New York-based investment firm, Greenbridge Condos has been recognized by the Chapel Hill Town Council as the “most environmentally sustainable” structure in the state. The building was the first development in North Carolina to receive gold certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program, a national standard for energy-efficient, environmentally conscious architecture.
In our new space, we will be looking to build on this foundation of environmental responsibility and use our resources most efficiently. To minimize our energy usage, for example, we will be employing innovative, long-lasting LED light bulbs from Cree, a leading source of energy-efficient lighting and a valued Rivers client.
The first floor of our new space will house our design and public relations departments. It also will feature multiple conference rooms for client meetings, as well as an outside patio that can be used for meeting or entertaining. A mezzanine level, easily accessed via a center stairway, features executive offices and additional meeting and working space.
The Rivers Agency has experienced strong growth recently. The Triangle Business Journal recently ranked us No. 5 on its list of the Triangle’s largest advertising firms, and UpCity also recognized us as one of the Top 50 web designers in the Raleigh area. From our start as primarily a print design studio in 1993, we’ve steadily expanded our expertise and skills to meet our clients’ fast-changing needs. We now offer a comprehensive range of creative services, including advertising, public relations, marketing, graphic design, video production, website development and search engine optimization, and we work hard to stay ahead of emerging trends in all areas of communication. We are a full-service NC advertising agency.
To keep up with our ever-increasing base of clients and projects, we are in the process of expanding our team. Rivers has long been known for attracting the best and brightest designers, wordsmiths and tech experts, and we will be looking to expand this talent base as we move forward so that we can better serve our partners’ strategic and creative needs.
